History

This home existed at least as early as the 1950 census, but might have been as old as at least 1929. The 1929 map cuts off around where the house is so I can't tell what the number should be. It looks old enough to have spots in the 1920 and 1930 censuses, but I am unable to find any mention of it prior.

The first mention of the home I can find is from 1943, when the home went on sale for $12,500. It was purchased by realtor G.W. Dieter, and was eventually sold to the Shermer family.

1950 census: Salesman George is living with his family.

Ida was an immigrant from Balta, in the Podolia Govenrorate of the Russian empire. Her original name was Khayka Grukha, and she came to the United States in 1906. The home passed to their daughter Mary in 1980, and she sold the home to the Wellers in 1980 for $78,000. They sold the home in 1985 to the Kass family in 1985 for $115,000. They repaved the driveway for the home in 1990.
